|
This study is focus on the living situation of the aged, and usage patterns, needs, and satisfactions of their social welfare services in two islands of Kyungnam South Sea-Hansan and Yokgi island. The Results of research are as followings ; Many old people live as a high ratio of the elderly, their monthly income is low, their physical and emotional condition is not good. The elderly residents have feelings of role loss and loneliness in island community every day life. And the finding of the study are that the elderly residents generally don’t enjoy social services for the aged in comparison with other old people in main land in Kyungnam province. The needs of social services for the aged in Hansan and Yokgi island is very high because they don’t use social services for the aged such as the elderly of main land in Kyungnam province. As a result the satisfactions of the elderly residents for elderly welfare services is much low. Therefore it is important that elderly welfare serves in overall islands of Kyungnam Southsea should be improved to strengthen welfare services systems, infrastructures, and manpower from now on.
